Description
English: Bronze Edict Plate.
  • Western Xia Dynasty (A.D. 1038 - 1227)
When joined together perfectly with its matching half, this bronze plate proves the bearer's identity. The interior of this plate is decorated with stylized patterns; on the other plate is written Western Xia characters. Edict plates were used to send urgent documents and messages, under imperial orders.
