DescriptionCNN Hummer "Warrior One" (2006).jpg |
English: A CNN Hummer titled "Warrior One" in remembrance of the two camera persons that died while covering military members in the War In Iraq is on display at the Pentagon on Oct. 19, 2006. A 2000 Ford F-350 named, "Standing Proud," has been painted with vibrant colors images of military members and lined with the names of members lost in OIF and OEF, is also on display in the courtyard of the Pentagon. Both vehicles were airbrushed by artist Mickey Harris, 50, a native of Cosby, Tenn."It was a blast and an honor to work with other artists,' said Harris. "I always liked doing patriotic stuff, so when I got the chance I jumped at it." The Ford truck named, "Standing Proud," belongs to Matt Jones, 35, of Effingham, Illinois. Earlier the Secretary of the Air Force, Michael W. Wynne made a few remarks about Keith Ferris and the many other artists that participated in the Air Force's Art Program and 60th Anniversay Art Exhibit before cutting the ribbon to commemorate the viewing of the numerous paintings highlighting the Air Force' s history here at the Pentagon on Oct. 19, 2006. The paintings are lined along the walls of the Air Force maintained areas of the Pentagon and there will be an exhibit of the paintings at Bolling Air Force Base on Oct. 20, 2006. |
