Nederlands: Negatief. Naast de Rafflesia waren er andere plantensoorten die Benkoelen voor toeristen, natuurbeschermers en andere tot een interessante streek maakten. Het ging daarbij onder meer om de Amorphophallus van de foto en de vele soorten orchideeën. In 1932 had de pluk en verkoop van orchideeën zo'n omvang aangenomen dat voor uitroeiing gevreesd moest worden. Resident Groeneveldt wilde deze ontwikkeling een halt toe roepen en stelde voor van het grote moeras van Doesoen Besar een natuurmonument te maken. Om zijn argumenten kracht bij te zetten, liet hij de Gouverneur-Generaal de trieste resten zien van de eens zo trotse orchideeënvegetatie. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
