English: Cleaning the latex-tins near the rubber factory Tanah Merah, East-Sumatra
Nederlands: Stereonegatief. In 'het Cultuurgebied', de streek van de tabaks- en rubberplantages in het Gouvernement Sumatra's Oostkust, werd veel gebruik gemaakt van tractie door runderen, bij voorkeur stieren en ossen. Het Sumatraanse rund was wat kleiner dan het Javaanse, maar het was hetzelfde ras. Ze werden gefokt in de Padangse Bovenlanden (Sumatra's Westkust) en in Atjeh. Van daar werden ze naar Sumatra's Oostkust geëxporteerd. Het meeste hoornvee op Sumatra bestond uit buffels (karbouwen), die als trekdieren sneller vermoeid raakten dan runderen en trager waren op de min of meer verharde wegen. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
