Nederlands: Schild. Houten schild met rotan strengen overdwars, die het splijten van het hout tegen moeten gaan. De knop in het midden biedt ruimte voor de hand.
Het standaard gevechtstenue van de krijger uit Nias bestond uit een ijzeren kuras of gevlochten vechtjas, een helm met fantastische uitsteeksels, een zwaard, een speer en een langwerpig houten schild. De kenmerkende vorm van dit schild wordt verschillend geïnterpreteerd: als blad van de bananenboom, als krokodil of als onderaanzicht van een grote prauw (van Duuren, 2001:72/73)..
