Nederlands: Repronegatief. De theeplantage heeft een fabriek als centrum. Als de thee door de pluksters is ingeleverd, wordt deze direct uitgespreid. Vervolgens begint het drogen ('welken') in een grote droogloods, waarna het gedroogde blad machinaal gerold en gekneusd wordt. Dan volgt het fermenteren bij een temperatuur van 40 graden Celsius. De thee wordt op bamboematten of lange tafels uitgespreid en nu en dan met de hand gekeerd om het fermentatieproces gelijkmatig te laten verlopen. Daarna wordt de thee weer gedroogd, hetzij ouderwets boven een houtskoolvuur, hetzij modern in een hete luchtstroom. Het blad heeft nu zijn karakteristieke zwarte kleur gekregen. (P.
