Nederlands: Repronegatief. De variatie aan typen visserij in de Archipel was enorm. Tussen visvangst met pijl en boog op Nieuw-Guinea en visserij met moderne motorprauwen bevonden zich talloze methoden en technieken. Hierbij waren verschillende typen vissersboten betrokken (mayang, jukung, motorboot). Verder viste men met lijnen, netten, of fuiken (sero) en staketsels (jermal). Het kegelvormige werpnet (jalah) was het universele net voor de kleine man (en vrouw). Daarnaast gebruikte men drijfnetten, zegens, buidelnetten en kruisnetten. Op de Mentawai Eilanden, gelegen voor Sumatra's westkust, waren jacht en visserij, waaraan ook vrouwen deelnamen, geen commerciële activiteiten. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
