English: Silver filigree model of a proa with two rowers
Nederlands: Scheepsmodel. Filigraan is een techniek waarbij van een plaat edelmetaal stroken worden geknipt, dit tot de vereiste dikte is verkregen, door gaatjes van afnemende grootte in een ijzeren trekplaat worden getrokken. Dit draad wordt zowel gebruikt om objecten te versieren als om voorwerpen mee te maken.
De plaatsen Kota Gadang op West-Sumatra en Kendari op Zuidoost-Sulawesi staan bekend om dit zilverwerk. Het dorp Kota Gadang ligt aan de andere kant van een ravijn bij de stad Bukittinggi. In Kota Gadang wordt al meer dan een eeuw lang fijn zilverwerk (filigraan) gemaakt voor het vervaardigen van miniatuurmodellen van huizen, voertuigen, meubels en vruchten..
