Description Night colour photograph of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Antietam (CVA-36) in 1953. The carrier was operating out of Quonset Point, Rhode Island (USA), at that time.
Acoording the crew member Joseph Y. Love, ETCM, USN (Ret.), this was a publicity shot for the flash bulb maker "Sylvania". No real flight operations took place and the aircraft were painted with a highly reflective paint.
