Summary edit

Description Aircraft of The U.S. Navy Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 52 (CVSG-52) in flight in 1963: in the center is a Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King of helicopter anti-submarine squadron HS-11 Sub Seekers, flanked by two Douglas A-4B Skyhawks of attack squadron VA-83 Det.18 Rampagers for self defence. To the right and left are two Grumman S-2A Trackers of anti-submarine squadrons VS-28 Hukkers, and VS-31 Topcats. Behind the Sea King flies a Douglas EA-1E Skyraider of airborne early warning squadron VAW-33 Det.18 Night Hawks. CVSG-52 was assigned to the U.S. anti-submarine aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CVS-18). Note that the Skyhawks are flying with extended dive breaks to be able to fly as slow as the other aircraft.
