Description U.S. Navy aircraft of Anti-Submarine Carrier Air Group 53 (CVSG-53) getting ready for a launch in the early 1960s from the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge (CVS-33). Most planes are Grumman S-2F Tracker of Anti-submarine Squadrons VS-21 "Lightning Bolts", and VS-29 "Tromboners". A single Douglas EA-1E Sykraider of Airborne Early Warning Squadron VAW-11 Det. R "Early Eleven" is visible on the left (RR-73). All squadrons were assigned to CVSG-53 aboard the Kearsarge for a deployment to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 19 June to 16 December 1964.
