English: A California Army National Guard Soldier from the 149th Chemical Company out of Turlock directs a casualty role player to a decontamination area in the 2011 Arizona Statewide/Vigilant Guard Exercise held in Phoenix, Nov. 3-5. The exercise is designed to enhance the California National Guard’s disaster response capabilities to devastating state emergencies such as an improvised nuclear device detonation. Vigilant Guard is preparing the 49th Military Police Brigade to assume the role as Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Region IX military disaster coordinator, or Homeland Response Force asset. |
