DescriptionCambodia 08 - 086 - Ta Prohm (3227695797).jpg |
Magical Ta Prohm was my favorite site in Angkor. Left mostly unrestored as it was found, it exudes an ancient, deep feeling. Used in the film Lara Croft Tomb Raider, it certainly has atmosphere and is certainly one of the most popular sites. But for all that, like we found at most places in Angkor, a simple left turn off the main paths leads to quiet, lonely routes where we could explore unhindered and nearly alone with our thoughts and the ruins. Each corner and doorway brought new discoveries as if waiting for us, regularly invoking stunned exclamations spoken aloud to the patient trees and lonely stone. |
