Two important clarifications: 1. the Vegan Society did not “invent” veganism! I'll eventually post a video about veganism before-the-word-"veganism" in cultures around the world throughout history. 2. This video is not intended to discourage aspiring vegans in any way. If you are moving in this direction, AWESOME! I support you! And as Tyra says, you'll only confuse people by identifying as vegan when you're not (yet), or feel you aren't able to go 100% free-from-animal-products for whatever reason. You could tell people you're vegetarian (if that's true), or "mostly vegetarian," or "eating mostly plant based."
