Summary edit

Description
English: The constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog, with diagrammed. This constellation includes Sirius the brightest of all stars in the night sky; yet in terms of absolute luminosity it is undoubtedly one of the faintest stars in this image. While multiple times brighter than our Sun, its apparent magnitude of -1.4 results mainly from the fact that it is one of the nearest stars to us. The coordinates given are full degrees only, for privacy.
