Title
English: Canoe Pass at Deception Pass, ca. 1912
Description
English: The firm of Webster & Stevens took a series of scenic pictures of the Puget Sound region. Some of them were made into post cards. In this photo, a small boat is dwarfed by the rocky cliffs of Deception Pass. The narrow pass, which runs between Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands, is well known for its strong and dangerous currents.
  • Subjects (LCTGM): Channels; Cliffs

This picture is looking east through Canoe Pass, the more northerly of the two passes with a small island (at right here) in between. The more southerly is Deception Pass proper. Both are now spanned by a pair of bridges on Washington State Route 20.
