Original photoshop illustration representing Captain America's shield, as depicted on the cover of Captain America Comics #3 (May, 1941). The 1940s color scheme differed from the modern version, with alternating blue white and red stripes enclosing the central star. This design was the second of at least four different variants employed between 1941 and the present day. No copyright was violated in the production of this image. Stars, stripes, colors and geometric shapes are not subject to individual copyright.
