DescriptionCapel Ebenezer and chapel house, Llanfechell - geograph.org.uk - 1255302.jpg |
English: Capel Ebenezer and chapel house, Llanfechell The Independent/Congregational Ebenezer chapel was founded in 1805 with the present chapel being built in 1862. The cost of building the chapel was bourne by the Lewis brothers, who like others in Anglesey, had made their money through speculative building in Liverpool. The chapel was the first in the county to have a harmonium, then regarded by many Nonconformists as the devil's own instrument. Brig-Gen Owen Thomas was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Ebenezer and he was buried there in 1923. |
