Summary edit

Description
English: Capel Engedi Chapel. Disused chapel. Engedi, built in 1842, was one of Caernarfon's biggest chapels, but a dwindling congregation and structural problems led to its closure in the late 1990s. A tablet outside the chapel commemorates the fact that the idea of establishing a Welsh colony in Patagonia was first formally discussed here in 1856, and that this led to the successful establishment of a colony (Y Wladfa) in Patagonia, where, in the area around Puerto Madryn, Welsh is still spoken.
