Summary edit

Description
English: A diagram which accompanies "Capillary 1.jpg" and "Capillary 2.jpg" to show what happens to the plasma proteins as they pass through a capillary. The capillary wall is impervious to the large protein molecules that make up the plasma proteins. Since water is lost during the passage of blood through a capillary, and the proteins stay behind, they exert an "oncotic" osmotic pressure which draws water back into the capillary, particularly at the venous end of the capillary.
