Summary edit

Description Great Gull Island is 10 or 12 miles off the coast of Connecticut, and a bit less off the North Fork of Long Island. As it is uninhabited, there's no regular ferry service. What there is, is Captain John's. His Sunbeam Fleet is made up of charter fishing boats, and through some arrangement with, I guess, the American Museum of Natural History in NYC (which owns GGI), they make periodic runs out to the island to drop off groceries from Peapod, drinking water, incoming and outgoing researchers, and feckless volunteers such as myself.
