Description High-Energy, Electron Beam-Stabilized, Carbon Monoxide Electric Discharge Lasers CO-EDL - The first high-energy, electron beam-stabilized, carbon monoxide electric discharge lasers CO-EDL were developed in 1968 at the Northrop Research and Technology Center with support from ONR. At the time, CO-EDL was the most efficient directly excited laser system resulting in electron guns and infrared optics.
