Summary edit

Description The east face of Carbonate Mountain, elevation 12,310 feet (3,750 meters). The mountain's peak is on the border between Alamosa (west side) and Huerfano (east side) counties in southern Colorado. It is also on the border between the Rio Grande National Forest (west side) and the San Isabel National Forest (east side). The view is from the east, looking west. The gap on the right is Mosca Pass. Carbonate mountain is the highest point in the ridge, right of center. The mountain lies in the Sangre de Cristo Range.
