Description
English: Calciocarbonatite from the Phalabowra Complex of South Africa. This rock is made of calcite but it also contains iron and copper minerals. The whitish-grey mineral is calcite, the brassy-gold mineral is chalcopyrite, the black mineral is magnetite and the bluish mineral is bornite. This rock is 86 millimetres across at its base. It is from a copper mine on the Loolekop Pipe. This rock is of mid-Paleoproterozoic age (2.06 billion years old).
