Description
Wildblumen vor einem Getreidefeld. Öl auf Leinwand. 79 x 95 cm.
English: The experts at lempertz saw this as a work by Aagaard. He certainly painted this view in 1857, but he signed and dated that painting, and the experts did not mention any signature. So is it the same painting? The original painting was sold at Bruun Rasmussen in 2006 and its provenance was well known, so why did the experts at lempertz just mention a "Private ownership in North Germany"? A layman would reach the conclusion that this is either an unsigned repeat by Aagaard or a copy made by somebody else.
