Summary edit

Description
English: Carndonagh Cross St. Patrick's cross, with its two flanking decorated stelae has been dated to the 7th century, which would make it one of the very important crosses outside mainland Europe. An elaborate interlacing of broad ribbons covers the west face. On the east face there is again interlacing at the top, with birds shown. On the shaft is a grotesque crucifixion with three figures shown underneath. The south and north sides are decorated too, and the whole stone has weathered well. The side stelae are well decorated too.
