English: Carrie Rodgers and spectators at SS Edmore launch, Seattle, May 24, 1919
Description
English:

David Rodgers (1865-1923) was a master shipfitter who worked at the Puget Sound Naval Station, Moran Brothers Company, Seattle Construction & Drydock Company, and was general manager at the Skinner & Eddy Corporation shipyard in Seattle from 1916 until 1919. Under Rodgers' management, the crew broke production speed records for ship construction and completed more ships for the U. S. war effort than any other American shipyard. Rodgers' wife, Canadian-born Carrie B. (King) Rodgers (1867-1947), was a sponsor for the Skinner & Eddy-built SS Edmore, and is shown here on launch day posing on the dedication platform with a large group of women and children. Mrs. Rodgers is standing front and center in the group, holding a bouquet of flowers.

Photograph is part of an album titled "Mrs. David Rodgers. Sponsor for S.S. David Rodgers. Launched Feb. 9-1918." Caption on photo: Mrs. David Rodgers sponsor, S. S. Edmore, Hull No. 53.
