Bernard Harvey Foster (1876-1937), proprietário do primeiro automóvel que circulou na Madeira e, ao lado, o acompanhante que afastava os curiosos, evitando acidentes. O primeiro automóvel a circular na Madeira, um Wolseley 10 h.p., de 1904, utilizado nas deslocações do casal Bernard e Mona Beatrice Foster durante a sua estadia no Funchal, onde chegaram no vapor “Briton”, a 30 de dezembro de 1903, só chegou a 21 de janeiro de 1904, no vapor “Dahomey” e saiu, para Inglaterra, a 24 de maio de 1904, com a família Foster. |
