Engraved panoramic map of Paris in 1620. Includes index to landmarks in the lower panel.

17th Century survey of France, in 4 volumes, published 1660-1663, by Casper Merian, printed by Casper Merian, Broer and Jan Appelaar. First published in German in Frankfurt between 1655 and 1661, also published in Latin. This is the first Dutch language edition of the most extensive survey of the geography of France, published in Amsterdam shortly after Merian's death. Includes 4 engraved title pages, 325 maps and views, some folding, some double page, accompanied by text by Martin Zeiller. Series of engraving of 17th. century French landscapes, the most comprehensive guide to the cities, buildings and roadways. Contemporary half calf covers with the gilt title "Naeukeuriche beschrijvinche van Vranckryk" on spine.
