Summary

edit
Description A dense thicket of unhealthy ponderosa pine trees through which the Castle Fire moved. It is beneficial for forest health if small trees die as a result of the fire. This will leave healthier, more open stands that are resilient to insect infestation and disease. North Kaibab district. 8-21-19. Photo by Jackie Banks. Credit the Kaibab National Forest.
