English: Caught at the end of a groyne. Lengths of entangled ropes and fishing nets can often be found adorning the bare skeleton of the wooden revetment > 1034068 or trapped at the ends of groynes.
Wave action is undermining the cliff face and the sea is eating away at the layer of dark clay which forms the cliff base - crumbling and eventually toppling onto the beach. The layers above are slipping downwards, taking all vegetation with them. The exposed cliff face is easy prey for wind and weather > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1034424. |
