Chain of Title in a register of deeds and title

Summary edit

Description
English: A chain of title means that the ownership of the piece of land can be traced back to the original grant. This indicates that the chain of ownership is legally valid and the person who claims to own the land does in fact own the land. Where the jurisdiction mandates that a copy of the deed is 'registered' in a Land Register the search process is significantly simplified.
