Last Sunday I wrote agood long letter to Eliza, and Anna wrote one to Aunty. Weare having a splendid time, riding, walking, swimming, draw-ing, fishing, and sailing. I have seen twenty-one deer, andAnna has seen seventeen. We generally go to ride on horse-back in the evening, and almost always see one or two deer.When we get home, we unharness the horses, and ride thembare-back to the field. We have been to bathe quite often,and the waves have been splendid. Saturday they were sohigh, they went over Robs head all the time. Since CousinAnnie Drinker has been here, we have drawn a good deal.We intend to finish our sketches with Cousin Annie at NewBedford. We have a good many baskets of egg-shell whichare very pretty. We knock off the top of the egg and bindit with ribbon. We cover the egg-shell with the pith ofrushes. Annie and I have kept a daily journal, which will bevery pleasant to look over.
