English: Down Summer Saturday Relief at Chester General. View eastward, towards Crewe/Manchester etc. At Platform 3 is a Leicester - Llandudno Relief, with Stanier 'Jubilee' 6P 4-6-0 No. 45561 'Saskatchewan' (built 7/34, withdrawn 9/64). In the gloom on the right is a DMU off the GW line; on the left a long Up express from North Wales stands at Platform 4. (I was helping the RCTS with a systematic Traffic Survey that day, which they published). |
