English: Chesterfield (Midland) Station, with a Down freight train. View southward, towards Derby etc., Nottingham, Leicester and London etc.; ex-Midland Main Lines London St Pancras, Leicester, also Bristol, Bimingham and Derby, to Sheffield, Leeds etc. Freight traffic through here was extremely heavy and this Class H freight was put through the station on the Down Fast, headed by Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48281. Note the 'Crooked Spire' on the right. |
