Summary edit

Description
English: Chesters. Looking from the hill fort at Chesters across the agricultural landscape of NT5078. Chesters is a small hill fort but with many ramparts. Strangely it is overlooked by a high hill, so vulnerable to attack from above, especially from sniping bowmen. The interpretation board suggests that it may have been a more ornamental structure, a sort of first century folly surrounding a big house or compound. The archaeologists have yet to get in.
