Summary edit
DescriptionChicago and Northwestern locomotive 8540.jpg |
English: Chicago and North Western Railway (CNW) locomotive #8540 General Electric (GE) model C40-8 Photo taken by Russell Meier at Shawnee, Wyoming. At this time of the day, this part of the railroad was closed for maintenance. The crew ran a set of light locomotives, including #8540, to this location to eat lunch. Since the locomotives were parked next to the highway, it was easy to get several shots of each locomotive. This was the best shot. This image was scanned from a Kodachrome 64 slide. To make it look more like the original slide, the scanned image was lightened-up, and dust was removed with MS Picture It! 99 before uploading to Wikipedia. |
