English: Chiesa dell'Inviolata, Riva del Garda, Italy. High altar fresco: Mary with Jesus, Saint Roch (left), and Saint Sebastian (right). At the end of the XVI century, the family Zanardi had built a tabernacle, on which a fresco was painted. This image became a place of pilgrimage, so that very soon a wooden chapel was built around the tabernacle. But even this chapel was soon too small, so that, funded by donations, in 1603 the construction of a church was started, which was consecrated in 1636. The Fresco now got its place in the high altar of the new church.
Deutsch: Chiesa dell'Inviolata, Riva del Garda, Italien. Fresco im Hochaltar: Maria mit Jesus, Heiliger Rochus (links) und Heiliger Sebastian (rechts). Ende des XVI Jahrhunderts ließ die Familie Zanardi einen Tabernakel erbauen, über dem ein Fresco gemalt wurde. Dieses Bild entwickelte sich zu einer Wallfahrtsstätte, so dass schon sehr bald eine Holzkapelle um den Tabernakel gebaut wurde. Aber auch diese Kapelle war bald zu klein, so dass, finanziert durch Spenden, 1603 mit dem Bau einer Kirche begonnen wurde, die 1636 geweiht wurde. Das Fresco erhielt nun seinen Platz im Hochaltar der neuen Kirche. |
