Branching Tree-The largest and most vigi irons grower of all Ivmoiiici. eipi m this respect to Childsi. Each stalk produces :s or 4 branches all of which begin to bloom before the main spike has faded producing a wonderful pro- fusion. Color fine pink with yellow and maroon throat. 40c. each; 3 for$l. gs i if these Gladii ilns. and e fascinating beatify of the W, crimson, white, brown, green, pink, etc.. are blended together, producing an effect seen in no other flower. Thej are of rccenl hit rodueti' u. therefore, new and 0,uite unknown. It is useless to attempt to describe th ir regal beauty, tor it cannot be done. They must lie seen. Besides their gay colors and odd markings, they have two very important points "I superiority over other sorts. First, they bloom two or three weeks earlier and are in full per- fection befoi thers appear: and secondly, they are hard) and may be left in the ground over winter, from year to year, without lifting in autumn; yet we do nol advise this we think it better to lift them in the fall and sP ire I hem in liar, that they may be planted out in fresh, mellow soil in spring. They do well either way. Atlas—Clear violet, large velvety maroi m bl< itch. Admiral Pierre—Large flowers, round, very open : dark carmine- red, lower divisions clouded with purplish maroon, surrounded with light yellow. Bejazet—Lovely light pink, shad- ing t< i delicate blush : velvety carmine bli itches. Bassuet- Large, brilliant ver- millii m. CP.is. Martel - Rosy blush, in- tense large carmine blotch. Creole- of untisuall) line form ; ci ili ir vi isy blush, flamed and shaded with carmine; deep crimsi in blat. Obelisk—Rich solferino, deep crimson blotch. Pactole—Sulphur-yellow, spotted black. Romeo—Rich and beautifully colored. M. Levique—J)ai k erimSOll. Masque de Fer—Dark crimson-black. Oriflamme—Crimson, blotched black. A. Thiers—Deep lilac-rose. J. J. Rosseau—Salmon, maroon and gold. Louis Thlebaut—-Lilac-red. white markings. Miss Dudley—White ami crimson.
