English: Chilmark Down near Chilmark This view to the south-west looks over Chilmark Down, with the trees that surround Down Farm on the left. On the OS map, it is the descending slope of the chalk downland as in this picture that is called Chilmark Down rather than the highest point which is to the right off camera, so it is not a prominent feature. In the distance is the shallow valley of the River Nadder and beyond that the hills around Fonthill. |
