English: Chilmark Down near Chilmark 2 This view to the north-west is of farmed chalk downland adjacent to Chilmark Down which is off camera to the left. On the right the overgrown bridleway heads towards the highest point at 196m, but first crosses the line of a Roman road, then an ancient earthwork, Grim's Ditch, which is marked by the line of trees crossing the bridleway. In the distance is Stockton Wood on the other side of the A303 trunk road. |
