Description
English: Chinese gunboat Rui Jin in early 1950s.

Rui Jin is a converted gunboat of PLAN. It's formerly a US Design 381 coastal freighter, but was requisitioned by PLA and converted to an armed merchant gunboat. It was very active in the early 1950s, participating most of the battles in the period. In 5/18/1954, Rui Jin was bombed and sunk by ROCAF P-47 fighter bomber. In 1955, there's was a frigate inherited its name.

This photo was taken by the ROCAF P-47 pilot who sank the ship using the gun camera when strafing.
