Description
Français : Foyer d'affinage chinois (chaolu), utilisé dans le Sichuan au début du XXème siècle. Fait à partir d'un croquis de Yang Kuan en 1960. Le combustible utilisé est du charbon de bois. Le principe de ce foyer a été comparé au puddlage européen car les fumées sont dirigées au-dessus de la fonte à affiner.
English: Chinese fining hearth (chaolu), used in Sichuan in the begining of XXth century. Done from a sketch of Yang Kuan in 1960. The fuel used charcoal. The principle of this earth has been linked with the european puddling process because the fumes are driven up to the pig iron.
