English: Christianoupolis' Lake is made by the construction of a dam in the flow of "Filiatrino" river, but it also recieves water from much smaller water streams coming from the same catchment.
The purpose of this creation is to irrigate water and control the floods of the river. There are 25 such lakes in Greece. The usefulness of artificial lakes is invaluable.Ελληνικά: Η Λίμνη της Χριστιανούπολης (Ντοπόλη), δημιουργήθηκε από την κατασκευή φράγματος στη ροή του Φιλιατρινού ποταμού. Βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στα Φιλιατρά και την Χριστιανούπολη.
Ο σκοπός δημιουργίας αυτής της λίμνης είναι η άρδευση και ο έλεγχος των πλημμυρών του ποταμού. Υπάρχουν 25 τέτοιες λίμνες στην Ελλάδα η χρησιμότητα των οποίων είναι ανεκτίμητη. |
