Description
From the auction notes: Study for the altarpiece in Ramløse Church, Denmark. Similar studies to the altarpiece are discussed and depicted in Hans Edvard Nørregaard-Nielsen: “Christen Købke”, Copenhagen 1996, volume 2 page 159–165. The present study is very close to the final design of the altarpiece. Moreover Købke here sketches a draft for the altarpiece frame.
