Description
English: Christchurch with Saint Ewan Church, Bristol, September 1978. Late Georgian Baroque style, built 1786-91 by William Paty and based on Badminton Chase and St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London (Gibbs) although the tower and spire was built in 1883 tower in a variation on Gothic Revival; the portal is neo-Florentine. Refurbished by Henry Williams in 1883 and restored in 1973 when the neo-Gothic windows were replaced by Renaissance style ones. Scanned slide.
