Description
English: Jacobean monument to Christopher Blackhall and his four wives, installed in 1634 in St Mary's parish church, Totnes, Devon. Three wives predeceased him and one survived him. In 1620 he gave a library of 50 theological and historical books to the church. The vicar John Prince used them for research in writing The Worthies of Devon, completed in 1697 and published when he could find finance.
