| Description |
English: Long-term alcohol exposure renders Caco-2 cell monolayers more susceptible to cytotoxicity induced by Staphylococcus aureus. Confluent monolayers of mock and ethanol treated Caco-2 cells were infected with S. aureus (Newman strain) (MOI = 5). Cytotoxicity was assessed by the uptake of the impermeant nuclear fluorescent dye PI (red = dead). Images were captured every 15 min at 200× magnification and shown at 15 fps. |
