Views of the iconic Chrysler Building at the golden hour, right after the lights turned on at sunset, then about 45 minutes after sunset during the peak of the blue hour. I was fortunate to be able to include one of those temporary orange pipes workers use to vent steam, seen in the lower right hand corner of the photo. Pleasant Sunday evening. Many couples and tourists out walking. Golden Hour: Canon 6D | Canon 70-200MM F/2.8L IS II USM | f8 | 110mm | 2 sec | 100 ISO | B+W XS-PRO ND-VARIO 1-5 MRC (set at 6 stops) Right After Sunset: Canon 6D | Canon 70-200MM F/2.8L IS II USM | f8 | 110mm | ½ sec | 100 ISO | B+W XS-PRO ND-VARIO 1-5 MRC (set at 2 stops) Blue Hour: Canon 6D | Canon 70-200MM F/2.8L IS II USM | f8 | 110mm | 1 sec | 100 ISO | Photos taken from 40th and Lexington Avenue in Midtown. Each photo is a vertical panorama stitched together from about 16 overlapping images. The percent overlap is high (nearly three quarters), which I've found helps avoid distortions in vertical panoramas given my current work flow. |
