Description
English: Parish Church of St. Andrew in Barrio de San Pedro (Palencia, Castile and León). Located in the Centre of the village, slightly to the Northwest of the case and scarce 50 m from the road. The Romanesque is purely anecdotal, appearing most of the building as a late Gothic work with remoces neo-classical and Baroque. Box walls rises in excellent sandstone Ashlar yellow stripe and fine-grained that sometimes alternating with other coarser grain appreciated conglomerado as gradient ashlars. The tardorrománico building was raise a single nave, which subtracts the West with the steeple on Gable, steeple that follows the traditional, with a smooth downstairs and bells with two bays slightly pointed, now blind to add in the 18th century this structure a second body of bells, with two embrasures semicircular and auction in sprocket body schema section temple with Campanile and ball decoration. The header is preserved a series of modillones, some decorated with motifs animalísticos as a bird of prey devouring its prey in the North-East angle, prótomos of Canids and other vegetal decoration, or simply profile of ship. The carving can be Gothic pieces that follow the reused Romanesque canecillos models.

Iglesia parroquial de San Andrés en Barrio de San Pedro (Palencia, Castilla y León). Situado en el centro del caserío, ligeramente hacia el noroeste del caso y a escasos 50 m de la carretera. En ella el románico es puramente anecdótico, apareciendo lo esencial del edificio como una obra gótica tardía con remoces neoclásicos y barrocos. La caja de muros se eleva en excelente sillería arenisca de veta amarilla y grano fino, que a veces alterna con otros sillares de veta más gruesa en la que se aprecia conglomerado ya degradado. El edificio tardorrománico debió plantear un templo de nave única, de la cual resta el tramo occidental con la espadaña sobre el hastial, espadaña que sigue el esquema tradicional, con un piso inferior liso y cuerpo de campanas con dos vanos ligeramente apuntados, hoy cegados al añadirse en el siglo XVIII a esta estructura un segundo cuerpo de campanas, con dos troneras de medio punto y remate en piñón con campanil y decoración de bolas.

En la cabecera se conserva una serie de modillones, algunos decorados con motivos animalísticos como un ave rapaz devorando a su presa en el ángulo nororiental, prótomos de cánidos y otros con decoración vegetal o simplemente con perfil de proa de barco. Por la labra pueden ser piezas góticas que respetan los modelos de los canecillos románicos reutilizados.
